WORKSHOP SUPPLY LISTS
PASTEL MEDIUM (also see General Supply List below)
Drawing boards:
Plein Air Workshops: Please bring 2-3 panels per day in your choice of sizes 12" x 16", 11" x 14", or 9" x 12". Bring board light in weight, such as Masonite or Birchwood.
Studio Workshops: Please bring your choice of pastel paper sheets between 12" x 16" and 16"" x 20".
Paper - Bring your favorite pastel surface. I enjoy using Canson Moonstone and 400 grit UART Sanded Pastel Paper. Cut paper to approximately 11" x 14", 9" x 12", or 8" x 10" - to fit your drawing boards.
Pastels - Largest assortment of colors possible; Rembrant pastels are a fine pastel to begin with; conte crayons, earth tones. A great pastel box for working in the field is the Heilman box (Phone: 530-778-3080)

Plein Air Workshops: Please bring 2-3 panels per day in your choice of sizes 8" x 10", 9" x 12", 10" x 12", or 11" x 14". We will be doing small studies on the canvas panels.
Studio Workshops: Please bring 2-3 of your choice of sizes in panel or stretched canvas between 12" x 16" and 16" x 20".
I prefer SouceTek's Handcrafted Canvas Panels (Phone: 800-587-5462) in these sizes: 8" x 10”, 9" x 12”, 10" x 12”, and 16" x 20"
Brushes- suggested sizes:
Flats sizes: 4, 6, 8, and 10
Rounds sizes: 6 and 8
Palette Knives: one small #3 and one medium #8
Turpenoid (odorless turpentine)
Brush cleaner – Holbein small or medium
